Diy Rustic Frame For A Photo Or A Chalkboard

Weathered wooden frames looks great in many interiors. Thanks to a special paint technique you can easily make such rustic frame for a photo or a chalkboard by yourself.

Materials

  • Wooden frame
  • Wood stain to make wood darker
  • Water-based paint in the color of your choice
  • White paint
  • Paint scraper
  • 80-grit sandpaper
  • Paintbrushes, sponge rollers and paint trays
  • Drop sheet
  • Cloth and spinge
  • Candle

Instructions

Sand the frame smooth and wipe away the dust. Next, stain the wood if it’s made from light-colored wood and paint it with the water-based paint of your choice. Rub the candle over the areas where you want the undercoat to show through. After that paint the frame with two coats of white paint and use your paint scraper to scrape off the paint from the waxed areas. Put something in the frame and hang it on a wall. Enjoy!
