Love double-duty pieces? Then you’ll love this craft, too! This is a vase cat scratcher: it’s a vase covered with sisal rope, a very practical and creative idea. Keep in mind that if you put fresh flowers and not dry herbs in the vase, you’ll have to pour some water, and if you cat drops the vase, it may spill. So I strongly recommend some cotton, lavender or billy balls.

The idea is about assembling a bedside table, covering it with sisal rope, adding upholstery on top and a kitty toy – here a pompom one. Looks pretty nice and will be a nice item in any living room and your cat will be happy, too!

Cardboard

Cardboard is another super popular material to use for scratchers, it’s very comfy for scratching and many cats like it very much, besides, cardboard reminds them of their first days that were often in a cardboard box. Make a stylish modern scratcher of cardboard and a wooden frame – it’s a cool solution that doesn’t require much money and can be often changed. Make it large enough for your cat to sleep on, many cats love it, too!
