Instead of two tripods that aren’t good at holding a camera when you are moving around them, we’ll make an overhead camera rig. As the ball head is quite flexible, it’s easy to power the camera and connect it to an external monitor.

  2. Buy some wood, brackets and screws to mount a camera clamp to a piece of wood. Get some scrapwood and plywood, too, you’ll need them.

  3. Measure the existing rig and cut the wood accordingly. Use a kreg jig and some wood glue to attach things to each other.

  4. Keep building a frame as you see it in the video.

  5. Now while we are waiting the rig to dry, let’s make a camera holder. Using wood glue, screws and a drill make the holder as you see it in the video, attaching pieces of wood to each other. Add a support piece to allow the holder to move. Sand the resulting piece.

  6. Cut and attach two pieces of plywood to the rig to minimize movements of the holder. Voila!.
