DIY Cobble Stone Path Of Colored Cement

It’s a good weather in many countries so a lot of people enjoy spending time outdoors. If you’re one of them you can not only relax there but also make your outdoor space more cool. For example you can make a nice cobble stone path that will connect something near by to your house. For such project you can buy some cool concrete form at Lowe’s or some other store that sells them. Working with such forms isn’t hard at all. You mix a bag of concrete with water, add some color to it, place the concrete inside the frame and smooth it there. After you lift the frame the stones will resemble a natural looking rocks.

In theory this project sounds easy, mix a little concrete put it in your mold and smooth it out, but its actually hard work. Each mold takes a 60lb bag of concrete mix. We made a large walkway with this method and posted about it here: http://housestruck.wordpress.com/2011/08/04/our-finished-diy-patio/

The results are wonderful, but they don’t come for free.

  3. Laurie Says:

Most of your hardware stores carry them now. Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

  4. Shelley Says:

Where do you get coloring for the concrete? I’m going to attempt to do a stamped concrete patio and would like the color powder. Thank you in advance

  5. Sabrina Says:

Again, most hardware stores that carry concrete also carry concrete paint/coloring.
At Lowe’s, the coloring is in the same aisle as the concrete mixture.
