These photographs are absolutely beautiful. If only there was enough time in the day to read all of those books. With the rise of devices such as the kindle and ereaders, I suspect book collections are dwindling. I read an article a few weeks ago where a University has a library that holds thousands of books, but are only accesible through kindles and ereaders. While I think that ereaders are great, you can’t stack them on a shelf, nor would they look as aesthetically pleasing.

Very nice, but some of them across as too serious. A libary should be a happy and fun place in my opinion.

Love the pictures but I had an OCD twitch when I read “much more people can read.” It should be many more, not much more. It is a nice collection and I would love to have a home library.

Kindles, ipads, ereaders are all fine but at the drop of a hat the information on them can be wiped off. By natural disaster or by someone with the power to do so. Books, unless you burn them, are there in your hand with all their information. Musty and beautiful. I don’t chose to risk loosing my information. That and The way they look on a shelf, how do you beat that?

My dream, one day have a library, in the range of those shown above. I would then proceed to stoch it with edions of my favourite authors, starting with Jeffery Archer, most of his books I would read two or three times. Non fiction would be biography’s and Auto biography’s of famous people, particularly of football(Soccer) players like Lional Messi or Pele. I would start with a biography Of Ted Bates of Southampton F C , I think it is called rough Diaamond.

No matter what extensive developments there are in ‘kindle’ and other electronic book technologies – nothing will really compare to the experience, appearance and meaning of having a collection of important hardback or paperback books on a wall.
Really enjoyed these – got some great ideas from them!

Call me picky, but if you are doing the write-up for a page about libraries, shouldn’t there be a pause for proofreading? Especially if it is about libraries? Stopped counting spelling and grammar errors at 10 and just looked at the pictures (trying hard to forget about the mistakes I missed). What a shame!
Other than that, there are some great ideas here! I have many, many books and very little room, so will get my imagination in gear and have a crack at making my well-covered friends feel more at home! Thanks for these pictures…well done!
