Fall isn’t that far, and it’s high time to think what cozy decorations to make for the cold season. Wood is one of the most popular materials to bring some warmth in, and today I’d like to share some rustic-inspired ideas that were realized using wood slices.

First of all, you can make some furniture of wood slices, it’s easy to DIY and you’ll get a unique piece like no other. Wood slices are pretty easy to work with: you just need to slice the wood, sand it a bit and then finish the way you like. Wood slabs can become side tables, nightstands, plant stands, hanging and wall shelves. Try usual or hairpin legs or just stack large wood slices on each other to get a table; if you want a hanging piece, make holes and use twine to hang; you can try several tiers if you want to.

Create personalized rustic wall décor with wood slices: my favorite craft here is wood slice panels, two of these will make a statement in any room. You can leave the slices as they are just staining them or color block them or even create various patterns. Another idea is to take slices and use them as canvas for painting birds or other stuff. Wood slices are amazing for making various signs, just paint something on them or chalkboard them and then use chalk for writing and drawing.
