Have you noticed a lot of pineapples on the internet lately? This might be a trend for now, but I’m perfectly fine with having pineapples and other fruit around all the time. Here’s a fun and cute quilted pineapple placemat project. The organic quilting lines are one of my favorite things about this mat, and let me tell you, they are so relaxing to sew! I love its geometric shape and bright look that will add fun both to an adults’ and kid’ meal. This happy pineapple is so glad that he gets to sit at your table with you!

This fun watermelon placemat project is totally inspired by the quilted pineapple one, and it can be done in the same way, with some change of colors. The techniques are pretty easy again and the look is super cute. You can also bring this quilted watermelon to a blanket or table runner, have a nice summer!

Remember those hexagon watermelon and pineapple placemats we’ve already spotted? Here’s one more project of the series, and it’s a blueberry! Since the hexagons make the outside a little lumpy, it’s probably better as a boysenberry, blackberry, or a raspberry. In fact, you could make a whole set of placemats with just different colored berries!

Dining outside is one of my favorite things to do in, and these DIY placemats fit in perfectly with that plan. Bright, festive, and easy to clean (just shake!), I can’t imagine late summer dinners without them now! The pieces are made of bamboo skewers, not wood, which makes the craft very budget-friendly. And even though I know none of us want to talk about it right now, these mats are so easy to roll up and store for winter.
