How To Cover Wall With Wood Shims

Custom wood wall is a great decoration for any room. Especially good such walls fits living rooms. Here is a nice example of custom wood wall made of common households shims. These shims are sanded and stained and thanks to that looks great even though they are quite cheap. The only downside of such project is that the process is very time consuming. Although I think the end result is worth it.

For the project you’ll need: wood shims, wood stain, hot glue, paint, scissors, a sander, a paint roller, sponge brushes and a glue gun. Visit ReadyMade for full instructions showing how to complete the wall on pictures.

Looks great, but as you have mentioned most likely very time consuming. We went a simpler route by buying ready made bamboo mosaic tiles. Bamboo is laid out in mosaic and stuck on the matting. Was not too expensive. You can see an example of it at bamboomosaic.com. I do like the texture shown on the above wall though.
