Cheap DIY Rustic Kitchen Backsplash

If you want to change the look of your kitchen on a budget you can make a new backsplash for it. In order to minimize your expenses you can reuse different materials like wine corks or reclaimed wood from old shipping pallets.

To make a kitchen backsplash from old pallets you need to find some good ones, cut them into a bunch of pieces of the similar size and scrub them clean. You can also stain them if you like. After that you can play with their configuration and adhere them on a wall using liquid nails. The backsplash you’ll get will have a really rustic look and will add lots of texture to the wall.

i love this, i assume you would also need tp use a sealer to waterproof the area? and what about cleaning? say sauce gets splashed on it? or cake batter? i have kids? so this happens on my regular wall behind my sink, and use a damp sponge with sometimes mr clean or a kitchen user ,so they are my concerns, but this would go great with the idea,im doing with my kitchen,im trying to create a italian kitchen, with 1940′s 1950′s vintage kitchen. i cannot afford marble, stone ,so this is extremly affordable.

The look is the same, but much easier , quicker and easier to wash. Use barnwood look linoleum! Works great
